Pena went six for six with two homers in today's W over the Royals. An amazing game, the best day he has had in the Majors.

Although, Pena remains the most frustrating player on the team. He has this type of performance after being forced to the bench the last two games because he was awful. His average was around .204 prior to today's explosion. Pena shows these all-star caliber flashes just often enough to make you wonder if he really is going to live up to his potential.

If Carlos could play anywhere near this level consistently, the Tigers future would be much more certain.

Carlos Pena may have saved his starting job after going 6-for-6 with two home runs, four runs scored, and five RBI on Thursday. It's a reflection of his struggles that this monster performance only raised his average to .236.
