The Diamondbacks purchased the contract of Scott Service from Triple-A Tucson. Service was 5-0 with a 3.68 ERA and eight saves in 21 appearances there. "He had been setting up and closing in Tucson," manager Bob Brenly said. "We will probably use him the same way."

The team is in last place so I don't see a problem trying this kid out. Can't be too bad.

Yeah Service sucks, or at least I think this is the guy that pitched for the Jays not long ago.

He is well traveled. Too bad he didn't pitch for the Astros or Cubs when Scott Servais the catcher played for them.
