I went and watched some outdoor baseball tonight!
The Twins have been in the Dome for 20 years. The only outdoor alternatives are the St. Paul Saints who play in the indepentant Northern League(I'd guess high A, low AA) or the University of MN.
The Saints played the Winnipeg Golden Eyes and won a shootout, 15-9. It was a giveaway night at the park and we recieved a "garden gnome" wearing a Saints shirt, sitting on top of the Saints mascot, a pig. It is a totally different experience than attending a major league game. There is something going on all the time between innings to keep the fans entertained. It really makes it fun. Lots of families there, too. I was in the third row, behind home plate, about 10 feet towards the first base dugout. You want to hear the amazing part? We had four box seats, that close, and the total was $32 !!!!!
