You're right. Damn, thought it would be tougher. On 4th September 1908 Germany Schaefer (playing for the Tigers) stole second, then stole first, and then stole second again. He asked the scorer to be credited with three stolen bases, but failed, and was credited with just the one SB.
Schaefer was an interesting character: during one game played in continuing torrential rain the umpires, unexplicably, let play continue. When it was his turn to bat, he came to the plate wearing boots and a raincoat, with the bat in one hand and an umbrella in the other, and the game was promptly called off.
