You know what sucks? We can't even trade this puke. Who would want his sorry ass? WAY TO KILL US AGAIN LOWE!

This effin guy, he doesn't just lose, he gets demolished. He makes damn sure his team has ZERO chance to win when he pitches.

I say bench his ass. Let some single A dope get his spot.

EFF YOU DEREK!

BJ Surhoff's home run in the first inning- barely 300 feet, the shortest home run I ever seen! :nut:

come on guys, derek lowe isnt THAT bad...he's horendous. i can pitch better than he can for god's sake. and were paying how much for this douchebag?!

How much do you guys think steinbrenner is paying lowe to suck? thats my theory, because there is no way anyone playing in the MLB can suck that much.

Tell me about it...he's killing TWO of my freakin fantasy teams!

He's:

4-5 with an era of 6.82  Thats TERRIBLE

Thedatch
05-31-2004, 08:33 PM
i just can't believe he's only 4-5. the sox should shift some of those runs they score for him to more deserving players, like schilling and wakefield.

Blue56
05-31-2004, 08:34 PM
he should be like 2-8 or worse, but he was saved by Boston for some games.

Thedatch
05-31-2004, 08:37 PM
has he even pitched a game this year that he deserved winning? i can't remember!

Blue56
05-31-2004, 08:48 PM
His first game (i think)

besides his first game, he never went over 6 innings.

Thedatch
05-31-2004, 08:49 PM
my god, that really is sad. I say take him out of the rotation. its obvious hes not effective, bring someone from AAA up.

and you have every right to be. i mean, we got our asses royally handed to us on a platter today. it was embarassing.

It was somewhat preventable too, I watched Frankona keep Lowe in after he showed him the blisters on his finger. I was shocked that he kept him in there. I agree, the only reason he has the record of 4-5 is because he has one of the top 5 AL offenses behind him.

Derek Lowe blows. Put him on the bench and give me the ball. :D

Gotta love his 6.82 ERA.

I hope the upper managament doesn't sign his ass and let him go as a free agent after the season. It's his games like this where I wish we had John Burkett, a guy who I never liked in the first place!

hey, we still have frank castillo. remember him? he's still hangin out in pawtucket, bring him back. he never sucked as much as Lowe. In a way though, this is a good thing, because now we dont have to worry about resigning him. we can get a better pitcher almost anywhere else, and we can focus more on varitek, and dare i say it Pedro.

Derek Lowe is a goddamn train wreck. :(

Yes it was. Don't get me wrong, Lowe sucks, but the score was only 2-0. If Franco-American uses his goddamn brain and yanks Lowe after 5, we have a shot to come back. Franco has a very bad Grady type habit of leaving his starters in way too long.

i have to disagree on this one...sure, maybe this was preventable, but Lowe had done well through the first five innings, and Francona just wanted to see if he could get out of his own mess, which I think is admirable. Then again, looking at past performances it probably was stupid of him to leave lowe in there, but I can see why. (and its not as if Lenny Dinardo helped him out there either. he let three inherited runners score, so.)

PissedPrincess
06-01-2004, 12:24 PM
He had a blister, he lets the first 2 guys get on, and can't find the plate. I yank him right then, and I don't bring in DiNardo, I bring in Embree for a batter or 2, try to get out unscathed.

Effin Lowe. Effin Francona. RUINED MY HOLIDAY!

ahhh, the power of hindsight huh? hey, it's the fans job to be critical i guess. :)

PissedPrincess
06-01-2004, 12:29 PM
Goddamn right we should be critical. Lowe's ERA in May is 8.24!

This is the man who called our 3 yr $27 mill offer an insult.

Know what Derek? You're a goddamn insult.

Bring up Castillo!:D

Why couldn't you guys put him on the mound against us? :eviltongu

I bet the Mariner Organization is LAUGHING their collective asses off now. Bad move trading Lowe? Ha! What a bunch of saps we are.

Thedatch
06-01-2004, 03:01 PM
is that where we got lowe from? the mariners? I always thought he came from out system...

PissedPrincess
06-01-2004, 03:10 PM
We got Lowe and Tek from the Seamen for Heathcliff Slocumb. It is widely discussed as the Mariners getting screwed, but, maybe they weren't so stupid. At least we got Tek.

The Seamen thought Lowe sucked, he started out 0-7 with them. It's looking like they were right after all. :(

duckboy
06-01-2004, 04:07 PM
You still got Tek from us. I've been pissed off every day since that trade.

Thedatch
06-01-2004, 04:08 PM
its still a succesful deal though. i'd trade anything for tek. we'd better sign him, or else! :2guns: I will pop a cap in someone's behind.

duckboy
06-01-2004, 04:27 PM
You can bet your butt the Mariners would target him in free agency if you guys don't sign him.

PissedPrincess
06-01-2004, 04:48 PM
I dunno Duck. Boras is asking for 4 years, 10 per.

duckboy
06-01-2004, 05:06 PM
The Mariners have money to spend now. That is not a problem.

Money cleared for next year:

Edgar Martinez
John Olerud
Freddy Garcia (unless a miracle happens)
Dan Wilson (if Tek is signed)
not to mention the money saved from Sasaki
also Boone might be traded

We could be the Baltimore Orioles of free agency next year.

Typically though, they love to sign people with either ties to the team, or ties to the area. Tek would be perfect.

Thedatch
06-01-2004, 05:07 PM
boone traded? maybe the sox trade him for varitek at the end of the season if we can't get a deal done with tek...

PissedPrincess
06-01-2004, 05:13 PM
No thanx. Boone is 97 and declining badly. Tell you what Duck, trade you Lowe and Tek for Garcia. :)

Thedatch
06-01-2004, 05:14 PM
why dont you throw in kim as well?

PissedPrincess
06-01-2004, 05:16 PM
I would, but he's hiding in Korea.

:loser:

Thedatch
06-01-2004, 05:19 PM
yeah, i heard about that...wtf? i mean isn't be supposed to be in pawtucket?

PissedPrincess
06-01-2004, 05:21 PM
We scared him away. :notme:

duckboy
06-01-2004, 05:21 PM
We'll take Tek (w/extension) and Arrojo. At least he has some promise. We have enough overrated right handed bullpen guys.

PissedPrincess
06-01-2004, 05:23 PM
You want Arroyo you'd have to throw yourself in Duck. ;)

Arroyo has heart, I don't know if he'll ever be more than a serviceable #5, BUT, rarely will he kill you like Lowe will.

PissedPrincess
06-01-2004, 05:25 PM
BTW, That Putz guy is promising. Remy kept raving about his curveball.

duckboy
06-01-2004, 05:35 PM
The M's have a lot of really good pitching talent at the AAA level. That, more than anything else, probably spells the end of Garcia here (not that I agree with that philosophy).

You just gotta love shutting down teams with a pitcher named Putz. It just makes them look extra bad.

Thedatch
06-01-2004, 06:03 PM
lol, i remember watching that curveball, too. made a couple of hitters look reeeeeaaallly bad out there. i think the mariners just ran out of pitchers, so they had to keep him in one inning too long (thankfully)

i'd rather have tek and arrroyo than garcia by the way :)

if Lowe keeps struggling he Better get TRADED

i listend to most of that game on the radio yesterday during my drive home. i missed the horrible inning while eating, but even early in the game it didnt seem like lowe had all that much going on.
