OMG! He is too funny! He is playing the Zeile call over and over with a a dying wolf sound in the back (for the wolf pack!). Hehehehehehe.

Hey the caller just called the team "A pockrt full of miracles" I like that!

Is anybody listening?

Quote: "The Mets are capturing your undivided attention". That is cool too!

I LOVE Steve!

I don't want to turn this into a Yankee-bash post (seriously ;) ) but has anyone else noticed what I'm noticing in NY? The Yankees keep winning and winning... and no one seems to really care or make a deal out of it. To me, because they are SO expected to win, there's no "news" with the Yankees winning. Honestly, I don't feel any "buzz" around the city when it comes to the Yankees.

As for the Mets, they're a .500 ball club... and yet, there's a bit of a buzz around here! It's still subtle, but that quote above says it all: people are taking notice of the Mets! They're winning in dramatic fashion and giving Met fans (and all of NYers) something to cheer about!

Let me tell ya, it's a VERY cool feeling... :)

On Edit: btw, I wrote my post before seeing Cyn's latest post... so, maybe I SHOULD turn this into an anti-Yankee post! (I didn't hear this caller, but I can only imagine what he said!)

I've been listening to Somers, also known as the schmoozer sice the Mets post game show ended on the radio. I try to listen to him most nights. There are others at WFAN who are Mets fans too.

Somers is very good at doing comedy routines and parodies after many Mets wins and losses.

Steve is also famous for changing the names of many of the big league teams in the 4 major sports (Baseball, NFL, NBA, NHL)
Sacramento Kings (Sacatomato Queens)
Los Angeles Lakers (Los Angeles Fakers)
New York Islanders (New York Icelanders)
Just to name a few.

luckily I missed those particular callers....

When they Skanks got swept by Boston at Skankee, one caller called to complain that he was sick of Mets fans being happy because Yankee fans root for the Mets when they are not playing each other....PUHLEEZE, ever since then I only listen to WFAN when Somers is on...at least he has clever comebacks to those jerky callers! :D
