A friend of mine at a fantasy sports website recently did an article building a roster of ex-Orioles (his favorite team). He came up with a roster that might not win a division but would probably be a very competative team.
I thought I'd try it with the ex-Twins
C - AJ Peirzynski, Chad Moehler, Damian Miller
1B - David Ortiz
2B - Todd Walker
SS - Chris Gomez
3B - Casey Blake
Utl - Denny Hocking, Greg Colbrun
OF - Matt Lawton
OF - Bobby Kielty, Chad Allen
OF - Dustin Mohr, Brian Buchanen
SP- Eric Milton, Kenny Rogers, Mark Redman, Matt Kinney
RP-LaTroy Hawkins, Mike Nakamura, Mike Lincoln, Todd Richie , Mike Jackson
Cl - Eddie Guardado
The pitching staff isn't too bad, but could use another decent starter.
Three really good starters, one weak one - one excellent RP/setup, one really good one, and two fillers - a really solid closer.
The offense isn't great. Ortiz is the big bat, AJ is better than average, Walker is a good hitter, Lawton is having a great comeback year, Blake is decent, Gomez is having a good year, The OF is weak, other than Lawton. Hocking is a decent utility man. Catching depth is very good.
Interesting drill.
Anybody I missed?
