What's your opinion of Koskie and stealing bases? There was never any mention of him stealing bases as a prospect and then out of nowhere he steals 25+... What would you expect this year?

I can't say for sure that he'll steal 25+ again but Gardenhire has said that the Twins will be even more agressive on the basepaths this year. Koskie is an extremely agressive player, always willing to go 1st to 3rd or 2nd to home. The coaches have a heck of a time slowing him up. My only concern is that he may have surprised some teams in 2001 with his base stealing and they will be much more aware of him on base now.

One thing people forget about Koskie is that he never played baseball until junior college, he was a hockey player before that. He's still learning the nuances of the game, and that includes stealing bases. That may be why there was no history in the minors, they were just trying to teach him the basics of playing baseball.
