the problem with the "you simply deal with them when they show up" approach is that that is a pain in the ass. For you guys who have never had to go through and delete 15 posts by a user, you would have no idea. The idea is that this will prevent that. Its not a big deal, really.

i know exactly what you are talking about and i have found that the 50 second rule at another site does not stop the exploding trollers.

No, it's not a big deal. I would be for shortening it just because when I'm posting for example team updates, I do it rather quickly so the 59 second rule sometimes comes into play which is annoying.
