Well first off you need to run.

Run in sand if you have any around.

Second being 13 years old as a WR and you played on my team you would have to do a ton of blocking. So practice blocking. That is a big thing and that will help you so much while you continue on your football career. If you can catch and block you will be in the lineup all the time.

Second catch drills. Play catch a ton. Have people throw the ball at you and hard. Catch it. Practice jogging out and having them throw it over your head. This will help you get your head on a swivel and move your waist around to get in a better position to catch the ball.

But soft hands are the secret to WR. Then the hard core is going to come out in me now. The fastest way to get on a coachs bad side is to drop the ball or FUMBLE the ball. Learn how to hold on to the ball. Hold on the ball and let people hit it punch it from all angles so you learn to hold on to the ball. I sleep with it in my grasp so it became second nature to me.

I played TE and got the ball a bit because I could catch. That is all my old man did with me. Threw the ball to me for hours a day. Right at me and over my head so you learn to catch it on the run. Run outs and ins and have them lead you some so you can get those also. But if you can catch a ball thrown at you those are no problem.

Catch with your hands to. Your fingers. Dont let the ball hit your body, or the heal of your hands. The ball will bounce off and give a easy INT to the other team. Think of them as a basket and the football as a egg and you got to put it in there as soft as you can.

Hope this helps any other questions let it fly and welcome to the board!!!

whenever someone throws you a ball, try to catch it with one hand.
