You probably knew that while Universal was shooting an English-language DRACULA during the day -- well, English with a Lugosi twist -- they were also allowing a Spanish-language DRACULA to be shot on the same sets at night. Now, that alternate DRACULA flick is getting the same treatment that NOSFERATU received with SHADOW OF THE VAMPIRE, although the bite here will probably be more figurative than literal.

Cheech Marin is set to direct SENOR DRACULA for Back Lot Pictures and Focus Features. The picture will focus on the filming of the second Drac pic, and a romance that blossoms between an American actor and a Hispanic actress (who presumably is not named Harker).

By the way, you can view the Spanish-language version of the film for yourself on the recently-released DRACULA: THE LEGACY COLLECTION from Universal Home Entertainment. Some say the Spanish version rivals or surpasses Bela's version. What do you think?
