The Toronto Blue Jays host the Montreal Expos today in the middle contest of a three-game interleague series at SkyDome.

Toronto will pin its hopes this afternoon on righthander Miguel Batista, who is 5-5 on the year with a 3.99 ERA. Batista earned the win in his last start on Sunday against the San Diego Padres, as the 33-year-old hurler scattered seven hits over 7 1/3 scoreless innings.

Batista, who is 4-2 at home this year, has faced the Expos five times in his career - two starts - and has pitched to a 5.28 ERA in those outings without recording a decision.

In the opener of the set on Friday, Josh Towers worked into the eighth inning, and Reed Johnson posted two hits and drove in two runs to lead Toronto to a 3-1 win.

Towers (2-2) was charged with one run on six hits in seven-plus innings to earn the victory for the Blue Jays, who won for just the fourth time in 11 games. Jason Frasor retired the side in the ninth inning for his seventh save.

The Blue Jays and Expos split six meetings last season.
