The Toronto Blue Jays Saturday placed outfielder Frank Catalanotto on the 15-day disabled list. The move is retroactive to June 18.
Catalanotto continues to be bothered by a groin injury and will make his second appearance on the DL.
He has played only 47 games this season and is batting .327 with one homer and 23 runs batted in.
In a related move, the Blue Jays activated pitcher Kerry Ligtenberg from the 15-day disabled list. Ligtenberg had been sidelined with a left hip problem. He is 1-2 with a 5.25 ERA and two saves in 27 contests this season.
