The White Sox have just traded C Miguel Olivo, minor league prospect Jeremy Reed, and another minor-leaguer to the Seattle Mariners for P Freddy Garcia, C Ben Davis, and a minor-leaguer.

I know that the Sox needed another arm,but I think that GM Kenny Williams just mortgaged the future of this club.

I don't like this trade at all.

Hahaha I love this title...seriously though Olivo is a good catcher

I liked Olivo too, but I think Burke is a good young catcher, and Garcia is a very good starter, his ERA is 3.20, while our best starter(Loaiza) has an ERA of 4.18

Don't get me wrong here.I like the idea of Freddy Garcia coming to town,I just think the price for him was too steep.

Sandy Alomar Jr
Sandy Alomar may have a chance for more playing time now that the White Sox have traded away Miguel Olivo. Alomar will be fighting with Jamie Burke and perhaps Ben Davis for playing time.

I'm very happy with this trade. It was becoming more apparent here that we couldn't sing Garcia to an extension. We got what we wanted with this trade. We wanted a major league ready hitter (Olivo), a top prospect (Reed), and depth for our minor league organization (Morse).

It was a pleasure doing business.

Alomar has seen plaenty of playing time this season for the Sox.I believe that he will assume the #1 duties for the Sox right now, with Ben Davis at #2,and Jamie Burke #3.

You guys got the better end right there. It will look really lopsided if #1) The Sox fail to make the playoffs, and #2) the Sox fail to sign Garcia to a new deal.

Enjoy your new players there.
