When the Red Sox commit ZERO errors, they are 26-13.

When they commit 1 or more errors, 18-17.

I'd be interested to see what other teams do.

Theo Epstein. He discussed it on the news last night, citing lack of defense and the HUGE number of UNEARNED runs we've given up this year.

In Saturday's loss, we had 4 errors, and gave up 5 Unearned runs. We lead MLB in unearned runs.

We play .700 ball when Pokey is in the line-up. We are far under .500 when he is not.

OKAY FRANCONA?

We have given up 29 unearned runs in the past 25 games.

This is why a team that is

#1 in the AL in ERA

#2 in the AL in hitting

Has scored 62 more runs than it has given up.

Is mired in second place.

PISS POOR DEFENSE! :bonehead

:yikes: Goodness! Didn't know it was that bad.

That's one thing about most Astros teams from 20, 30, 40 years ago: They rarely embarrassed themselves in the field. Since leaving the Astrodome, maybe even starting a few years before that, defense has seemed a distant consideration.
