The three game series starts tonight on election night in Canada. It does feel kinda sad that we are behind the Devil Rays who were the laughing stock of baseball for so long, but this does seem like a matured team. But honestly, I feel better playing against them now when they are a good team, instead of last year when they beat us every game even though they were "terrible."
Here's the pitching matchup for the three game set:
Roy Halladay (6-4, 3.66 ERA) vs. Victor Zambrano (7-4, 4.80 ERA) Halladay is the better pitcher, no doubt about it, but Zambrano is a great pitcher, and I wouldnt underestimate him. Still this one should, and hopefully will go to Toronto.
Ted Lilly (6-4, 4.31 ERA) vs. John Halama (4-1, 3.66) Halama looks like he is on a good run. He is basically an average pitcher though, through talent wise I'd take Lilly, but if your going for the hottest pitcher, take Halama.
Josh Towers (2-2, 4.45 ERA) vs. Dewon Brazelton (1-0, 2.53) Brazelton took a no-hitter into the 7th against the Marlins but was pulled almost immidieatley after he gave up the hit. So I'm hoping that the Jays can get to him fast. No clear winner in this matchup though.
