What can you tell me about Newhan from a fantasy perspective? I'm interested in acquiring him in one league. If he stays this hot they gotta play him, right? He has at least 1 hit in every appearance and is batting .485.

He's 30 years old. He had a cup of coffee with the Padres and the Phillies. Decent power in the minors. Origionally drafted by the A's and I think he was cut by either the Rockies or Rangers last year. He's filling a gap but filling it well. I picked him up in really deep league I'm in and I'm gonna ride him 'til he quits:D

I think Toy's got the right idea on Newhan.

Hard to say if he's a fluke or not, but he's certainly showing us something. Melvin Mora's foot isn't getting any better, and they're toying with putting him on the 15-day DL, rather than just having him sit around........ which means Newhan will be in at 3rd.

Even when Mora comes back, they'll probably DH Newhan....... while he's hot.

And who can say when he'll cool down........ I'm lovin' him!!!

Update:

He's gone 2 for 4 so far tonight...... one double...... he's hit safely in 11 straight games......... his avg. is now .486.

Get him.

Extremely hot.

Now, with Jay Gibbons down for a few weeks, and the possibility of Melvin coming back, Newhan could go into the outfield.

Maz is determined to find a spot for him, it sounds like.
