We're rained out again today! Just soggy here in the hills right now, this is the 9th straight day we've had measurable rainfall (1/10th of inch or better) here at our house ... Awful tough to do much landscaping work in this crap!
Getting ready to head in to do some paperwork then go see a couple of potential customers ... After that, I'm thinking of seeing if Spidey II is playing anywhere within 30 miles of here and taking my godson to see it ... I liked the original when I finally got around to seeing it.

OMG!!!
This movie FREAKIN ROCKED:thumbsup:
It got a little slow in the middle but once the action started up again it just totally blew me away.... Great storyline that for the most part, follows the comic.... Great ending which also plants the seed for Spidey 3, which also appears to follow the comic.....
I will definitely be seeing this movie again very soon!!

So, James, did you see my b/f?
:D
I know you only saw that picture of him at my apartment and you probably don't even remember what he looks like.
He's one of the train passengers.
I haven't seen it yet, otherwise I could give you more specifics. I was going today, but they were sold out until 7:45 and I didn't feel like going tonight, so I'll pop in tomorrow morning.
He wouldn't tell me anything about the scene he shot, because he had to sign a confidentiality agreement. And he's out in LA now, so the last time I talked to him was before the movie opened, so he still wasn't spilling anything...... Rats! I have a sneaking suspicion he buys it in the movie. :(
Can't wait to see it tomorrow!!!
Guru glad the movie was awesome! Well I am planning on seeing it soon. How did the kid like it? I am guessing he did. But one question, is it better than the first?

WOOHOO!!! I saw it this morning!!!
Ohmigosh! It's fantastic!!! :hail:
What I loved about it was how human everyone was. Peter's vulnerability, his indecision....... that was fabulous. Really got me caught up in the story.
Fantastic performances from everyone. Really witty movie, too. The "Raindrops Keep Falling On My Head" part just killed me.......
I loved the scenes between Tobey and Rosemary Harris as Aunt May. Really touching and moving.
Nicely done!!!!
(I'll probably see it again, too. :D )

Yes uj, it was BETTER than the 1st:thumbsup:
And yes, Austin LOVED it!!
Nan, you are dead on with the human element of the movie... Loved the train scene as I was on the edge of my chair for that one as it was just a great part of that movie!

Weekend in movie history!
Spider-Man 2 Breaks Opening Day & Wednesday Record Source: Columbia Pictures Thursday, July 1, 2004
Sony Pictures Entertainment's Spider-Man 2 established a new industry record for opening day box office receipts with an estimated $40.5 million in ticket sales, it was announced today by Jeff Blake, Vice-Chairman of Sony Pictures Entertainment and President of Worldwide Marketing and Distribution for the Columbia TriStar Motion Picture Group. Spider-Man 2 debuted yesterday in 4,152 theaters.
"We are off to a phenomenal start on what looks to be a magical six days for Spider-Man 2," said Jeff Blake, Vice Chairman of Sony Pictures Entertainment, and President of Worldwide Marketing and Distribution. "Spider-Man 2 may be the best reviewed film of the year, and now it's clearly being loved by audiences as well. Sam Raimi and the producers and cast have delivered a great film."
The $40.5 million figure shatters the existing opening day record of $39.4 million set by the original Spider-Man, which opened in May, 2002. The film also set a new record for openings on a Wednesday.

......." Sam Raimi and the producers and cast have delivered a great film."
This is so true!!!!! :hail:
James, I saw Tony, but only because I know him. I think he was a victim of the editing.
:(
The scene was so packed with people, and moved so fast, I think if you don't know him, you'll totally miss him
By the way, I loved the train scene. Especially the way it ended. (Without giving anything away, it's great.)

well since my cousin loves Sam Raimi, From "Evil Dead" he loved this movie as well. He said the there were some scenes fimiliar to evil dead, if any of you saw it. Like when Dr. octavious is in the hospital-> 1: camera works are the same, the part with the cutter was the same scene in Eveil dead 2 when Bruce Cambell was trying to cut the tree that was chooking him.
Sam RAmi has loves to tilt the camera one side and zoom in on the character and have the camera tilted on the other side.

I saw it this afternoon and I thought it was better than the first one. There was a break where the villain just kind of falls out of the picture for a little while which was kinda weird but it was an awesome movie.
I can't wait for the third one!

Just saw it today and it is by far the best movie I have seen in a long time, like Nanner mentioned, the fact that there was more of a human feeling to the characters was great. LOL and spiderman doing laundry.....I never thought of superheroes washing their own clothes
did anyone catch the guy on the train wearing the met hat, that was pretty cool
the ending was great too ,definetly looking forward to the next one
Also im shocked it was waaaaaay better than the first one, sequels usually stink but this was just great
The song at the end of the movie was pretty good too, even though it is a bit girly

I just saw it (hey better late then never) and it was very good--as people have mentioned it has a more human side to it. Alfred Molina was a good villian!
Could have done without the mushy stuff though.

Oh, yeah, I also saw it rather recently. I liked it! Really enjoyed the scenes through the canyons of Manhattan! Plus the CG (computer graphics) were better this time around, looked even more realistic than in the first movie. All in all, fun movie!
My only complaint has to do with that elevated subway train: there is no such thing in Manhattan! The only elevated subways left in New York are in the outer boroughs. But, oh well, I guess it's just a movie...

The 1/9 trains run outside in Northern Manhattan (Inwood/Wash. Heights), I believe. :)
And the front of the train said Bay Ridge! (that is my old neighborhood)

Do they? OK, my bad! :D But in any case, that scene was nowhere near northern Manhattan... :)
