As I put up our teams record as of now, I remember last year around this time we were probably 10 games over .500, and we had passed Boston for the wildcard and were only a 1/2 game back of the Yankees. That shows you how much this team has struggled. So now we face the Seattle Mariners, we took the first series when we played them, now time to take this one. I dont know whether this is good or bad news, but I think Carlos Delgado is going to Syracuse now for his rehab and he should be back soon. But will he be in Toronto at the end of the season? Stay tuned...
Miguel Batista (7-5, 3.73) vs. Jamie Moyer (6-4, 3.83) Batista may be pitching one of his last games as a Jay as his name has been mentioned in several trade talks. Seattle has struggled this season, but Moyer has been decent.
Josh Towers (2-3, 5.35) vs. Travis Blackley (1-0, 6.35) I have never heard of Blackley, but I guess he has only pitched once this season. As for Towers, he's too inconsistent to trust.
Ryan Franklin (3-7, 5.00) vs. David Bush (0-1, 1.59) Franklin looks like one of the many struggling Seattle players this season. Bush was excellent in his MLB debut although he got no offense support. He is one of our top prospect and I'd even have more faith in him then someone like Towers...

It's time for the Mariners to show a sign of life. This season has been absolutely pathetic.
Here's how I break this down:
Moyer is our ace. Batista has put up some good stats, but I think we will pull this off for Moyer.
Blackley is actually one of our top prospects. He is actually a bit like Moyer. He doesn't really throw the hard stuff, but he has great offspead pitches. He had a great first start. The only bad thing that happened was that he gave up a three run home run in the sixth of that game. Otherwise he flat out dominated the competition.
As for Franklin, well....uhhhh, let's move on.
My prediction for tonight:
Seamen - 4
Blue Birds - 3
Enjoy!

Carlos Delgado's rehab assignment was actually yesterday so he is in the lineup tonight. Jays are winning right now in the 8th but I wont give any details until the game is actually over lol.

7-6 final for the Jays. I admit I was little worried for once when closer Jason Frasor gave up 2 runs, but we still won. Vinny Chulk is establishing himself as one of the best set up man in the league. Reed Johnson and Josh Phelps each hit homeruns in the first as the Jays roughed up Jamie Moyer for 7 runs in 5 innings. Batista gave up 4 in 6 innings. Carlos Delgado went 1-3 in his return to the lineup. Hopefully Wells can be back soon and we will be a team again

Hey! Do you have to beat up on our ace? Damn. :eviltongu
You could activate Mark McGwire tonight, it won't matter. It's time for Blackley to shine.
My prediction:
Seamen - 7
Blue Birds - 1
This time, the prediction shall come to pass. :uzi:

Mariners should take this game unless Towers has one of his 8 inning shutout performances that he squeaks in every once in awhile...

Just remember our offense resembles the Tigers of last year.

Seattle jumped out to a lead on Towers, but the Jays came back and are now leading 4-3 after 5. Josh Phelps hit another homerun, hopefully this is the part of the year where he gets hot.

12-4 final.
Towers improves to 3-3, and Blackley takes the loss after giving up 5 earned runs in 5 innings. Phelps hit the 2 homers and added an RBI double later for a total of 7 RBI's.

OK. I give up. This series sucks. We once again are making our case for the worst team in baseball.
Sorry the M's couldn't make this interesting.
We'll see you again next season, hopefully with us revamped. Now after our loss today we shall move on to lose another series.
Sorry, I'm in Princess and PopTop frustration mode.
