Is it me or does there seem like there is a lot more balance in baseball thus far this season?
12 of the 16 teams in the NL are over .500 and 8 of the 14 teams in the AL are over .500...
The NL East has 4 of the 5 teams within 2 games of each other..
The AL West has 3 of the 4 teams within 3.5 games of each other...
5 of the 6 teams in the NL Central are over .500
The NL West has 3 of the 5 teams within a half of a game of each other...
Maybe I have short term memory but I dont remember so many teams being over .500 and still in pennant races by the all star break....
This is cool as hell and no one is talking about it.....

Interesting point. Only St. Louis seems to be *running away* in any of the races. I'm not sure why. Teams like the Rangers, Twins, White Sox and the Brewers have cultivated their minor league systems quite well. Since they can't match the big spending of the big boys, it's the only way they can compete. This brings them along side teams like NYY, BOS and PHI who can spend the $$$.
Whatever the reason, it makes for an interesting race all year long.
On another point, have you ever seen so many players go on the DL before?
