It was on this date(July 8) in 1973 that my dad took me to my 1st White Sox game.It was a twin bill against the Boston Red Sox at Old Comiskey(it was called White Sox Park at the time).

That was a very cool experience that I have not forgotten.Carlos May hit the first home run that I ever saw.Watching tha t scoreboard go off was a thrill that just astounded this 7 year old kid in 1973.

The Sox won that 1st game 6-1,with Steve Stone getting the win.Then reality set in as the sox were blown out 11-2 in the nightcap.

Wow, I wish I remember my first Sox game. I think the first baseball game I ever went to was a Cubs game with my dad and grandfather. All I remember about my only time in the old Comiskey is that someone I was with got stuck sitting behind a pole.

I've been in that same boat many time at the old Ball Yard.
And it was usually blocking my view of home plate. :angry:
