I'll cover these by division

NFC North (might as well start with my home teams division)

"Da Bears" - Scheduled to open the season against their former Head Coach Dick Jauron. Jauron is now the Lion’s defensive coordinator, after doing a very good job with a talent-limited Bears team.

"The Motor City Kittys" - You don't need a schedule to know when the Lions games start in 2004 – all games start at 1:00 eastern except for Thanksgiving Day (30 minutes earlier) They have to earn the league office's respect

"The Pack" - The Packers end the season with consecutive division road games (at Minnesota and Chicago).

"The Vikes" - The Vikings play the Packers on Dec. 24, a rare Friday NFL game on Christmas Eve. I'm not a fan of this schedule quirk.

NFC East

The NFL loves the Cowboys. They play only one 2003 playoff team in the first half of the season.

The Giants will get an early feel for their status within the NFC East - opening the season at Philadephia followed by a visit from Joe Gibbs and the Redskins.

The Eagles play five division games in a six week stretch from mid-November to mid-December.

The Skins draw interleague opponents from the AFC North- Steeler, Bengals, Ravens, and Browns
