The Tigers took a 2-0 decison in Minnesota this afternoon, winning 3 of the 4 games at the Metrodome.
Jason Johnson pitched a complete game shutout for the Tigers, striking out 11 Twins.
The win knocks the Twins into a 1st place tie for the moment with Chicago in the AL Central, depending on the outcome of the White Sox-Mariners game.

Yep, JJ was awesome today. Probably the best game he's pitched as a Tiger. They've got 42 wins at the break. One less than all of last year. This team plays a ton of games against the Central the rest of the year. They could really make it fun if they get pitching like today.

i heard the tigers were putting stuff on the vents in their dugout because of the superstitions with the Metrodome ventilation
it will be fun seeing this division down the stretch, the Twins seem to struggle within the division and the Twins were down a bunch goin into the break last year and ended up winning, could be the Tigers this year i think.

With the way they handled the Yanks and the Twins over the final week of the first half, I have great optimism that we can actually pull off the worst-to-first scenario. I just hope Dombrowski doesn't become a seller as the trade deadline gets closer. We need at least another quality starter to truly compete with the Sox and the Twins.
