It's between Sheffield, Tom Gordon, and Rivera for me :notme:

I think it's Flash because he's done two things: (1) pitch lights out, and (2) help keep Rivera healthy so he can pitch lights out. Mo has been our best player but I think Gordon has been our most valuable, if that makes any sense http://instagiber.net/smiliesdotcom/contrib/sally/lol.gif

Sheff deserves props for being The Man on offense :smokin:

oritz on any team :D but if i had to choose a yankee...if in the literal sense your looking for an mvp, most valuable player, it should be jeter. he performs on the field all the time, and he's very valuable in the clubhouse as well.

but if purely for numbers, flash

It's Jeter for first half MVP

He is hitting better now, if he keeps up in second half, he will probably end up over .300 and 200 hits

Haha, you're right that Jeter (and Rivera too) are the perpetual MVPs of the team. I was looking more at this season alone

I'm gonna throw more praise for Sheff in here :D. He's been a Warrior, as Steinbrenner would put it. The word is thrown around a lot, but it fits him perfectly. His shoulder is so bad that he can't even sit down without pain. He said the pain is magnified when he swings and misses, and yet there he is every day swinging like there's no tomorrow and diving for balls in the outfield like its the World Series. He's as tough as nails. I've been really, really impressed.

And then you have Jeter flying in the stands to one-up him http://mindscraps.com/s/contrib/sally/lol.gif. It's great when you can have a debate about who's the toughest player on the team :smokin:

It's Jeter for first half MVP

You can't be serious.

The guy hit .190 for 2 months.

He is now at .277 with a PATHETIC .336 OBP

He makes great plays now and then, but MVP? That NC heat musta fried your brain.

Sheff is 5 times better. .302 with a .410 OBP.

I have to go with Sheff, but props to Mo and Flash. Jeter is red hot, but it remains to be seen if he can keep it going through the second half.

Oh yeah, little mention to Miggy Cairo too, this guy has probably played regularly above his norm.
