Our guy Pudge went 2-4 with a triple, an RBI and a run scored in the All-Star game in Houston. He narrowly missed a two-run homer by inches as he took Clemens deep in the first inning for his RBI triple, knocking in the game's first run. The ball hit the top of the right field wall as Pudge flew around the bases, scoring Ichiro Suzuki. He singled in the second inning as well.

In a disappointing move, AL manager Joe "Me biased?" Torre elected not to play Carlos Guillen, instead sticking with his guy (and inferior '04 baller) Derek Jeter (who finished 3-3). When he did decide to finally pull Jeter, the Rangers' Michael Young got the nod at SS. Of course we all know who this year's top SS in the American League is, and it's a damn shame that he couldn't take a few hacks in his first All-Star game. Hopefully next year Torre won't be in the AS dugout, and Guillen will be starting on his home turf.

Joe, if you can manage to squeeze Tom Gordon in to face ONE batter, you could have managed to find an inning for Guillen. Especially when the game was out of hand, as it was by the seventh inning. My respect for you just dropped down a notch. Don't mess with my boys.

My dad and I are eagerly awaiting the Yanks return to CoPa, seeing as how the Tigers visit to the Bronx had some fireworks in it. Hit Pudge, will you? I'd love to see an old-fashioned brawl. Or at least see the Tigers take three of four. Torre's benching of Guillen may indeed have been some bad blood spilling over into an exhibition contest, as Guillen killed them in NY. Poor Carlos was the only position player not to see any PT. He can't tell me there was no where to hit him, or that we had too many shortstops to get him in. He's the best in the AL, for criminey!! Tasteless move, hopefully I'm not the only one feeling burned by this. Now I REALLY hate the Yankees.

Yea that was some crap, at least let him go pinch hit in the 9th or something, but NOOOO, give all your guys an extra at bat, and come on, 3 Yankee guys get to pitch, but you don't let Rogers, Cordero, or Westbrook pitch? What a joke

Well, I'm glad Rogers didn't get in, we woulda lost. Sorry about Guillen, but happy for Pudge.

Nice to see another fan turned Yankee hater.

That pissed me off to see Guillen sit the bench in a game that was well decided in the 1st inning.

I think there ought to be a limit on how many players from a certain team should go. I would say 5 tops.

I also heard a rumor the other day that the reason Torre took only 1 player from the White Sox is because the White Sox weren't very accomodating to the Yanks after they clinched the AL East last season in Chicago.

I wopnder if Torre thought that the White Sox were going to pay for the champagne?
