With his dominating performances against two AL first-place teams, starting pitcher Jason Johnson was named AL Player of the Week.

In two starts against the Yankees and the Twins, JJ posted a 2-0 record. He pitched 17 innings while allowing only one run. He struck out 15 batters over those two starts, while walking only one. He also out-dueled red hot Twins pitcher Johan Santana, who allowed only two hits and also K'd 11 Tiger batters.

Blister problems now gone, JJ has finally started to earn that fat paycheck he's been recieving. His pitches have been wicked, frequently freezing opposing hitters in their tracks, as well as buckling a few knees. Keep it up, JJ, and congrats!!
