Interesting.
You wonder why it wasn't Halsey.

halsey I think is done for the season, with brown just getting a rehab assignment, and el duque's return, there's not much need for him... but he'll be back next year probably... either as a yankee starter or traded

I can't believe they're calling graman.... 11.57 ERA....

As I mentioned in another thread, I was really surprised Halsey wasn't called up. Halsey has pitched okay in the majors (2 gems, 2 blowups), and Graman has pitched only once and got lit up in that start (something like 5 runs in the first inning, lol).
It has me wondering if Halsey wasn't called up because Halsey will be gone by Sunday.

probably, it wouldn't surprise me one bit... this could even be some sort of complex preparation for the unit :wavey: also you have to understand joe torre and mel tend to give people 2nd chances if they do horrible the first time up.. didn't that happen with mussina? :notme:

Haha, well Mussina has an $88 million contract and the track record of an Ace, which Graman doesn't really have...
Who knows, maybe there's no conspiracy and they're just showcasing Graman :notme:

Well I'm sure the Yanks would want to move Graman before Halsey so if he does well his value goes up...
There's still a huge cushion in the division so now's the time to experiment, lol. It would help if the offense was hot though .

Alex Graman (P) NYY
Recalled from Triple-A Columbus yesterday, Alex Graman will start for the Yankees on Monday, according to the New York Daily News. If Mike Mussina is unable to return in time, it's possible Graman could get two starts next week.

If Brown doesn't come back, Graman's on pace to start the Saturday game at Fenway this week
In fact, assuming the rotation stays the same, the starters for the next Boston series would be Lieber, Graman, and Contreras . Thank God for that 7.5 game lead :smokin:

Well I guess Graman's not pitching on Saturday, lol.
I'm thinking it will be Sturtze.

Look at Graman last night, he really sucks!
I'm annoyed by Moose being on the DL after we were told that he wasn't really injured, just a little tired. Let's hope he isn't out for too long.
I'll be watching the Sunday night Red Sox game, I can't believe I have to watch Contreras. :(

Haha, I'm actually glad Contreras is pitching the Sunday night game. He's been our best pitcher for the past couple weeks!

For sure, his last couple of starts have been reassuring. Let's hope he can carry it on to Fenway.

I just found out that Schilling will be pitching in Friday's game. :scared:

I think paint fumes have got to me (I've been helping one of my teachers paint her classroom for the past three days), but I think it's good the Yanks face Schilling http://instagiber.net/smiliesdotcom/cwm/cwm/erm.gif. We've only faced him once (some game back in April) and we couldn't hit a lick off him (then again, who COULD we hit back then? :notme: ). I'd like to see the Yanks face Schilling again now that we're hitting. I'm not expecting much, but it'd be interesting to see.
Me too.

if things go to plan, I might get to watch that one too.
Man, this is a big series.

The great thing is that even if we get swept, we still have a big lead :smokin:
