Well, after weeks of thinking about it, and then not finding my size and then not remembering my size, etc. etc. I finally took the plunge after today's Met game and bought myself an authentic Mets jersey!!!

A few weeks ago at Shea, I had wanted to buy it, but they didn't have my size in the style I wanted (original style, white with pinstripes). I finally decided to just buy it online (where it actually cost $20 more! ), but I wanted to double-check my size at the Mets store today. Well, luckily, they had my style AND my size! WOO HOO! So, obviously, I decided to just buy it today!!!

This thing is SOOO nice! Much nicer than those "replica" jerseys! :D Yes, it was a tad pricey, but I guess I'm allowed to reward myself now and then! (especially since I have SO few Mets shirts!)

As an added bonus, the cashier told me that the jersey came with an Al Leiter autographed baseball! Well, whaddya know?! Cool! Unfortunately, his autograph is a bit smudged. I told the cashier about that, but she said it was the last ball she had. Oh, well, better a somewhat smudged baseball than no baseball at all, right???

Anyway, check out the ol' Chuckster in his new uniform! :D (those are my softball pants, btw... ;) )

Very sharp looking there, Chuck! Congratulations! That's the same jersey I have (1 of 2) but mine's an imitation. Half the price four years ago. lol

Did you get anyone's name and number on it?

They're supposedly machine washable, but I have mine dry cleaned. Still looks new.

Enjoy it!

Nope, no name and no number. Didn't want to tie myself to any one player; this jersey is for the WHOLE team! :D

The jersey looks awesome you look like a pro, maybe the mets should release mcewing and get you in as a backup

Thanks, everyone! Once I saw it in the Mets store next to the replica jerseys, I knew I just had to spend the extra $ for the authentic one. The material just feels so much nicer and the "Mets" across the front looks so cool from up close (not to mention the authentic patches on the sleeves! )

After I took those pics, I continued wearing my "uniform" until I went to bed (I even debated sleeping in it ;) ... not really, as I didn't want to wrinkle it :D )

Ha ha, that'd be great until the first time I make an error and then I'D hear it from the boo-birds!

How much was it?

Umm, I'm not sure if I'm comfortable revealing the amount in public... :D

OK, if you really want to know, just follow this link and subtract $19.99 from the web-site price... that'll give you the price I paid at the Mets shop at Shea...

And, I see it has the 40th anniversary of Shea patch, too. I doubt it would have the Tug patch, right?

You're correct: yes, it has the 40th Anniv patch, but it doesn't have the Tug patch. I guess that's reserved strictly for the players.

Yup! So I gotta get myself to a Mets game to try it out in public!

(hmm, maybe if I wear it, I can sneek into the Mets dugout/clubhouse without being caught... )

I'm sad to say that a lot of the Mets are impersonating ball players this year, so you'll fit right in.....
