Jose pitched 7 innings, allows 4 hits and 2 runs!

Actually he is the best pitcher for the Yankees in the past several weeks! :hmm:

Big game for Sheffield despite his shoulder injury, it doesn't look good since it's getting weaker and he isn't denying it. Hopefully he can avoid surgery. :(

Another great start by Contreras. Take away the Mets bombing and Jose has pitched like an Ace since his family escaped. I'm still not sold on him, but if he pitches well in his next start (Fenway), I think we're heading in the right direction

I'm really worried about Sheff. His shoulder is sounding worse and worse :( . I think the Yanks should think about resting him a lot right now, maybe even a DL stint. It would be nice if A-Rod or Giambi would get on a hot streak before Sheff's back breaks under the stress of carrying the entire team .

Sheff has said that he's going to have surgery after the season ends. He doesn't want to go on the DL either. While it's admirable, this is July. Better he rest now than be worn out when we really need him.

you know, for all the games you guys are winning, it seems almost impossible you can have any problems but here you are. you look at...hmm...the red sox, and we're having issues, but so are the yanks. your pitching isnt great, and your offense isnt running on full cycinders. so how come you keep winning and we keep losing! it's driving me up a wall. you guiys have a reason? :notme:

I don't really have the answer for that but I think the Red Sox always have curse on them and couldn't get away with it :notme: :D

its fate, datch. its our effin destiny to suck and the fate of cubs fans. what else can explain 95 years of futility. hell we won our first postseason series since 1908 last year.

we have the same problems as the sox and yanks and we make both you guys look great.

Haha...luck perhaps? :notme:

The Yanks haven't played up to my expectations this year, although their record is up to my expectations . I think all the comeback wins has masked all the holes in the team. They also explain the big difference between the Yanks' actual record and thier Pythagorean record.

If you take out all the crazy comebacks (I can think of 6 off the top of my head) the Yanks record would be almost the same as the Sox...

Also, everyone on the team has contributed...it's not like one person is getting all the big hits (although Sheff and Sierra each probably won a handful of games alone). The non-stars (Clark, Flaherty, Lofton, Cairo, Sierra) have all had some huge hits. I think everyone on the team has been the star of some game, right down to Bubba Crosby http://instagiber.net/smiliesdotcom/contrib/sally/lol.gif. Well on second thought, maybe not Enrique...http://instagiber.net/smiliesdotcom/cwm/cwm/erm.gif

To me those are the two things that stand out about this team. Hopefully they continue...
