I'm a diehard O's fan and most of you are going to think that i'm crazy, but does anyone think that the orioles have a chance of winning the wild card? They are 8.5 games back from the red sox and A's. I still believe that they can advance to the playoffs!

I dont think that they have a cahnce to get in the playoffs but I feel that they are building up a good team.

Need some starting pitching...

But great to have you here.. Nanner needs some friends in here...

Hey Nanner how has it been going!!!!!

they have about as much chance as the red sox do. :) There is no way anyone is catching the yankees, but if the o's play as well against other teams as they do against the sox, then its a possiblilty

If they go on a huge hot streak, like a Tampa Bay type thing, and the A's start playing bad, we might have a chance. So far we've been pretty hot.

Thanks for welcoming me! :-)

I think we may be contenders next year or 2006 if nothing comes out of this year. I don't think its fair to say not any year just because the Redsox are in the same division, we have a good record against them. I understand about the Yankees though. I'm much more worried about them and what other big name players they will sign in the off-season. I know this team is good enough to beat the Yankees, but maybe in the long run we just won't have the money to compete with such a huge market. Which is why MLB needs a salary cap! But if we don't win the division, I say the Wild Card isn't out of reach any year, if not this year. If we can win five or six games in a row, we could be right back in it.

Ah. Optimism. :D

You know what? I'm going with the radical idea that they can have a chance at the Wild Card.

If they go on a huge hot streak,

Hmmmmm.......I'd say the past 7 games were a hot streak. :D

They're playing a helluva' lot better than my Astros who are still mathematically in it. Why not?!

I stayed up until 2 last night and I'm going to stay up late again tonight to watch the O's. I hope their streak doesn't end at 8. Now they are only 7 games back in the wild card standings. GO ORIOLES!!!

All I can say guys is have faith!! This team is playing so well right now it's hard to count them out, the offense is hitting in clutch situations the bullpen has been able to keep us in games and ever since Sidney slimmed, and Ray Miller taught these guys how to pitch, the starting pitching has been pretty damned good.

I'm going to keep watching and hoping, because just imagine this, what's going to happen when Rafael and Javy get their power strokes back? Miggy, Melvin, Javy and Rafael are all 30+ homerun guys. All I have to say is that we're a darkhorse, and that's our advantage, while the Red Sox are watching out for Texas and Anaheim, we'll be kreeping in out of no where. Let's not forget, we play the Red Sox 9 more times before the season ends. :D
