Chili Davis to work in D-Backs' system
TUCSON, Ariz. -- Former major league outfielder and designated hitter Chili Davis agreed Thursday to serve as a minor league hitting instructor in spring training for the Arizona Diamondbacks.
Davis played 19 seasons in the majors for five teams and was a teammate of Diamondbacks manager Bob Brenly in the minors and with the San Francisco Giants from 1981-87.
Davis also played for the Minnesota Twins, California Angels and Kansas City Royals before finishing his career with the New York Yankees in 1999.
The three-time All-Star played on two World Series championship teams -- the 1991 Twins and 1998 Yankees -- and had a career .274 batting average with 350 homers and 1,372 RBI.
