After we swept the D-Rays over the weekend, we are 1 game back of Baltimore for 4th, and 2 back of the D-Rays for 3rd. Time to get back into our usual 3rd place cushion against the Yanks.
Here are the pitchers for the series:
Sean Douglass (0-0, 7.36) vs. Javy Vazquez (11-6, 4.05) There is no doubt here that Javy is a better pitcher, although he is overrated. Douglass gets his first start of the season after just 4 innings out of the pen.
Orlando Hernandez (2-0, 2.65) vs. Ted Lilly (7-7, 4.04) Last time these two pitchers met we went into an exciting pitchers duel that ended up with a walk off shot by Ruben Sierra. I think Lilly is the better pitcher, and now that we have seen El Duque once this season, we have probably will be better the second time around.
John Lieber (7-6, 4.96) vs. Miguel Batista (9-6, 4.04) It's hard to tell who has been the better pitcher this season... Batista or Lilly? Anyways Batista is better then Lieber, I can tell you that.
