It's funny but since Randy Johnson said he would not go anywhere but New York it looks as if Boston isn't going to do anything (from what I've been hearing). I've heard the Sox are interested in getting a first baseman that can field but beyond that not much. I would think you guys are the wild card favorites and you've held your own against the bad guys this year. Maybe an additional starter could do the trick as well.

I don't know, 'Zilla. We've been wondering for weeks why Team Theo has done nothing significant yet, no solid rumors either. Seems that they are content just walking around with their thumbs up each other's asses.

That sounds pretty kinky if you were into that sort of thing.
I'm somewhat puzzled because the Red Sox are still very much in the wild card hunt and since they have held their own against the Yankees it really doesn't matter that they can't catch them. They have a team that can compete with the Yankees in the postseason. If the Yankees get Johnson you guys are sunk, but if you get a decent fielding first baseman and especially another starter then you could be in good shape.
I don't think Beltran is going anywhere unless the Dbacks sweep us.

one romour flying around was that RJ didn't want to come to Boston because he doesn't get along well with Shilling. i think that's BS because they're both starters, they don't really have to talk to eachother...and they'll never interact on the field, so he's just being immature if that's the case. On the other hand, if they don't get along it could hurt the dug-out morale, but it's worth a shot..:)

Walker has been mixed in some.
But now the thing I have seen is that the Fish are pushing for Walker.

well goddamn it they have 5 days to make something happen, and they better make something happen. there really isnt much out there, but if theo is willing to give up nixon for walker, i think the rox will go for it cuz nixon's in his prime, and the fish would only give up prospects who whould be ready in maybe 2-3 years.
make it happen theo, make it happen

Zilla, Theo has been saying he won't make major deals. He thinks his team is good enough. They are only looking for middle relief help.
Honestly, there isn't much out there. What out there is worth trading for? Nothing.
