They need some bullpen help and perhaps a starting pitcher and a maybe a 1st baseman who has a good bat and glove.

Princess said it earlier in the year....this crop of players, although very talented, just doesn't have enough heart to get it done. I say we play out the season, then let Nomar, Lowe, and whoeever else go via free agency and start to get some new faces in.
Yeah, I would love to see some younger guys in here. Guys with more hunger to win. And more energy in general. I miss the Sox of 2003. :sigh:

Is there anyone who thinks Theo may shock us and score a stud outta nowhere?
Blue? :D

thats right...this core of players have proven themselves losers. no matter what they do, they just cannot win. we need to go in another direction, start anew with different players, and hope they can come through where these guys have not

I have full confidence in theo. the thing is, i dont think i want him to mae a big deal...i want everyone out, not in, and i dont want to give up my minor leaguers for a 1 hit wonder. like the pats, we need to build a dynasty, not just go for the win once like the marlins, and then sell everything

I think he'll get a pitcher, (probably V.Zambrano or Pavano) and/or a nice hitter, maybe Walker.

No more talking about blowing up this team. The talent is not the problem. Its getting th talent to work together that is. anyway remember its not as easy to blow up a MLB team all those players are under contract and someone has to pay them.
We have good pleyers we just need the chemistry of last season back.

last season we didnt win, the season before that we didnt win. oh, and about 89 years before that we didnt win either...
im not talking about "blowing up" the team in that sense. but we need to replace our core players. that doesnt mean we would have to suck for 5 years. just replace our core players with equally good players, so that we have a new team. oh, and be more like the pats. you come late you camp, consider yourself cut. shut the f up and play, dont care about yourself, care about your team.

We may have not won alast year but we came as close as you can get but because of one decision or lack of things didn't go our way getting rid of the core playersi the wrong move. We have one of the best pitchers in baseball and the best right ahnded hitter in the league. This team needs to make better decisions and play more fundamentally ESPECIALLY on the road.
Also I have never really been a manager basher expect for Kerrigan when he took over for Jimmy and now Francoma who has no clue whatsoever!!!

francona cant do a thing when his players arent performing...I listen to WEEI a lot, and one thing is that everyone blames francona for everything. but guess what. when players dont hit the ball, its easy to blame francona for putting him in, but dont let the players off the hook. for 5 years now, the red sox, with this core of players, have gotten into the playoffs twice. 2 times. with the team, and talent we have. that should tell you that obviously these players aren't working hard enough, or aren't good enough. it's time for a change. guess what...we have the best pitcher in baseball. trade him. we have a great shortstop. trade him. we cant win with these players, we need a change...it will be for the better

Well V. Zambrano is now a met, so drop that off our list!
DAmn i Hate this, he can't make a decent trade! When was the last time Theo made a good deal that benefited the Red Sox? When? He got Shoureck (Sucked) Anderson (Sucks) Kim (Don't get me started on that.) He ahsn't gotten anyone this year that can benifit the team.....
Blue56
07-30-2004, 08:05 PM
I don't want him to deal for small players that won't do anything here! If you have to trade Nomar to obtain someone that will help the team a lot (clement maybe) Than do it! Didn't he say we needed a starter, huh? Well......

Gammons doesn't expect Theo to make any big trade but a few small ones perhaps, pitcher, 1B, outfielder.

07-31-2004, 12:31 AM
i know but besides Schilling and Foulke, he hasn't really gotten a great Reliever. He got Leskanic, who played 2-3 good games then bombed!
