View Full Version : I think the boys are done

Our playoff hopes are all but gone, now ten games back. The games since the break have just finished the boys off. Pudge is clearly tiring, imo. He appears hurt, too. Pena and Munson have become platoon guys two months from finding employment elsewhere. The bullpen, like Walker's homer to Blake tonight, has been destroying any chance of staying competitive.

Yeah, Guillen and Infante have been great. Thames has been a revelation the last ten days, too. But, they look like a team headed in the wrong direction.

It's been a great season and can still finish quite well, but all our remote hopes for post-season play seem to have left. (Of course, the Tigers will probably sweep the White Sox just to make me look more stupid than normal, but I would gladly be willing to be wrong about this.)

They will still finish quite well Brian, have some faith. They can't go from the worst team in the league, to the best in one season. Just wait till next year and see how well we do ;)

I wasn't planning any victory parades just the hope of finishing .500 or better. Now, I'd prefer third place no matter what the record. I agree they can still finish strong, and maybe it's just the dog days of summer catching up with them, but they are starting to look out of gas.

All that said, I'm still very happy with their season.

Unfortunately, I have only seen bits and pieces of this series, Jen. I'd love to be wrong, though. As I stated before, maybe it was just the "dog days" getting them, but they looked collectively out of gas prior to Thursday night's game. They do seem to play much better at home.

I still think .500 is possible, just not likely.

I don't think they'll finish .500 and probably will end up 4th with how GOOD the Indians are. They are only getting better though, playing much better with leadership. Infante and their young players are only getting better. Wait till next year.

I love the TIgers. Pudge is my boy. I was balling when he left Texas. The Tiges will finish strong. I can relate to how they're playing, my Rangers are in the same boat. Give these two teams another year or so and this talent will begin to shine through and pay off.

A big howdy Tigers fans from your local friendly Twins Mod!!!!! ;)

Hey guys the Tigers are a young team and look at the important thing. They have got better. Much better and there will be reason for hope next year!!!!!

Just like the Twins. How long did it take them to build the team they have now from the minors. And unlike the Twins the Tigers put some money in the team with Pudge and such.

Things are looking up in Tiger land so dont keep your head down anymore. Sure it might be a tough way to end the season but it will be much easier than it was last season!!!!

I am just happy to see the Tigers coming back and making themselves strong again. Good luck the rest of the year and next year also!!! It will turn out good again!!!!
