Fossum could still turn things around and have a good career. Just look at Carl Pavano. He SUCKED for like six years before getting things going (then again, Pavano had a string of injuries that slowed him down).

Yup, I dont believe Schilling was dominant til he was in Arizona. Thats when he was like 35. So you'll never know. Fossum is only 26. :notme:

that's true. fossum did have some good starts with the sox. but he never had the stamina to dominate like schilling. dont think he can ever go 9 innings...

Sorry man but Shil was a very good pitcher for the Phillys... He had one year where he was hurt and took him about a year and a half to get over it but he was a stud when he was in Philly also.

He was ALWAYS a "good" pitcher, but he wasnt "dominant" until he went to the D'Backs. :)

Well seeing how RJ is one of the top three lefties in the history of the game, that's not really much of a knock against Fossum.

When he was still a member of the Red Sox I really thought he would develop into a decent pitcher maybe a solid 4th or 5th starter seems he could go a good 5 innings then blow up. too bad :(

I like Fossum. I just think he needs to be a reliever until he gets a new pitch.

and remember johnson didnt become a dominant pitcher until a little bit later in his career too.

you're probably right. even then, he doesnt have the stamina to be a real starter...he can only go 5-6 innings

I like fossum when he was hear to. Too bad he has bad defence in Arizona!

Fossum aint bad, its just that we have a s**tty offense and s**tty defense. Take that away and he at least has 4 or 5 wins. He did pitch 7 and 1/3 no hit innings on Friday, but as always, he gives up a couple of hits and the pen screws it up. He could get better as his career goes on, but right now he's just not there yet.
