2002's Best Baseball Moments...

Paying back for the Brewers Sexson-Burnitz 6 homer fest, J.D. Drew and Albert Pujols do the same thing with a contribution from Tino Martinez added in.

Redsox get off to a red-hot start winning thier first 8 games.

Yankees beat Redsox at Fenway 7-0, only to get mauled over by angry fans resulting in an injury to one player!

Pedro pitches a perfect game

The first tie in baseball history declared when the Pirates and Padres are scoreless for 23 innings.....

I think a team that will suprise a lot of people is the Reds. I know that so far this spring they are 0-2 and have been getting rocked pitching wise, but I really think that they will come out, and at least make some noise in the Central or Wildcard race.

I just do not see the D'Backs repeating. I wouldn't bet any money against it though but father time is catching up with that whole team and that will certainly come into play.

I agree. It was neat to see them win last year, though. I was thinking that the Yanks had it when they brought Rivera in, but how wrong was I. It was cool. I think the D'backs will be a good team this year, but with the age of a lot of their players I think it will be hard for them to go all the way again.

I nearly turned off the TV!!! 3-1 going into the 9th with Rivera on the mound...

same here. I figured i would watch it though. I am glad I did.

This year I bet the Yanks will win it again. I would rather see a small payroll team like the reds do it, but I am betting the Yanks will.

I am so enjoying this thread!! Since the majority of you, despite not wanting to, are picking my boys to win!!! I'm thinking with the new additions, Giambi, Ventura, etc. we should take it this year. Besides they owe me one. I spent part of my wedding night watching extra innings, i spent my honeymoon watching all of the games and then when they brought Mo in I also thought it was over, only to lose it?????? Let's not even mention losing the bet to James. BTW James, shall we make this years bet right now??? We can start with Winning the ALC and work from there??? You game????

Sorry I can't see Oakland making it to the World Series, but now if their young pitchers pitch well as thy ar capable of maybe they can win their division and advance to the WS, but I doubt it. Their offense is just not good enough to compete against the Yankees or Boston.

dalla_99

As long as they make the playoffs, I see no reason they can't win the Series. They have the best staff in baseball, outside of Schilling/Johnson. Plus, I think Chavez will have a huge year.

well, it may be my love for the cardinals, but i don't think there is a team in the national league that will be able to beat them in a 5 or 7 game series. i think they will have a third straight 90 win season, and advance to the WS (barring a catastrophic injury, of course). and they are capable of beating anyone, especially if they can cut down the K's a little bit................

GO CARDS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
