Sam Narron is scheduled to make his Major League debut on Friday against Oakland at Ameriquest Field in Arlington.

At Double-A Frisco and Triple-A Oklahoma, he posted a 12-1 record and a 3.24 ERA in 23 games. The left-hander carried a 6-0 mark and a 2.36 ERA from Frisco to Oklahoma, where he was 6-1 with 4.01 ERA.

This should be interesting tonight. Hopefully he is not star stuck and can just go out and pitch. Finding his groove early is very much a must. A 1-2-3 inning might do the trick. If he can get through 3 innings and not see the 1st hitter again then we should be in good shape. If they start tagging him early, do you think Showalter is going to leave him out there to see if he has anything in his tank?

well if they tag him early I don't think I want Showaltr to keep him in there. These next 3 games are important. It's not the right time for him to play around and see if this kid's gonna improve over the course of the game. If Showalter leaves him in there, it would be like saying he wants the A's to win the division.

True. I think the Rangers have got to be out there looking for available pitchers before the deadline tomorrow. We need some arms in here, or the bullpen is just going to start to wear down. Where have all the great arms gone?

The only good quality pitcher that I've seen out there that isn't past his prime is Kris Benson but he's on the verge of going to the Mets. Randy Johnson is getting old & I think he's gonna be wearing out soon beside the fact that he wants to go to the Yankees & they don't have enough for him, so there's not just a whole lot out there. I think all the teams have signed their good pitchers to extensions already so that's why there's no one up for grabs.
