The Yanks wont have Randy Johnson after all. Talks have stalled on a possible deal, which now makes the possible deal with the Yanks impossible. Guess Joe Jr. got smart and realized that the Yanks have nothing to offer.

The even bigger news is now the Dodgers are all of a sudden top dog. They already got Brad Penny earlier from the Marlins, but a deal for Randy would put them over the top. And the difference from the Yanks is that they have something to offer us. If a deal does go through, I have heard the names Milton Bradley, Cesar Izturis or David Ross as possible players in this deal. Which would be good because we would have some future talent in it for us.

The Angels are running a close second in this deal, and the only reason it wouldnt happen is because Randy is uncertain if they will get to the playoffs, which plays a major part in his decision. But, if a deal does go through, I hear the names Bengie Molina or Adam Kennedy, or maybe David Eckstein. I like the Molina idea, I think it would be a good one.

If any big trade happens with Finley or Randy, I will be the first to bring it to you. Im out.

I heard LoDuca, Mota and Encarnacion went to FLA for Penny, Choi and a minor leaguer.

The Dodgers will send Penny and the minor leaguer, Billy Murphy to Zona for the Unit.

A trade may also may also be in place for Finley with the Dodgers giving up Jason Werth and prospects.

The Dodgers are also trying to pick up Charles Johnson from COL.

Heres a little known fact for you. Brad Penny was a former player in the D-Backs minor league system. Penny and another future major leaguer, Vladimir Nunez was sent to Florida for Matt Mantei back in 1999. The Marlins got the better in that trade(obviously). It would be like a mini reunion for Penny and the D-Backs. That would be cool if we got Werth, he is pretty good. He isnt All-Star kind of good, he's role player kind of good.

Intresting trade deadline. The D'Backs hands are tied with Johnson and Finly it seem, but maybe we will get lucky, and do a minor league raid of the west coast.

Speak of the devil, Randy's on right now. Hes allowed 1 hit in 6 innings and has struck out 4 batters. If Pedrique leaves him in, it will be the smartest decision he has ever made.

Liter, just adding on to what you said earlier about the players involved in this trade.

The prospect that would be involved in this trade is Edwin Jackson. I would be thrilled to have him here. Hes pretty damn good. Last year he beat Randy Johnson in his first major league start.

And from what ive heard about Murphy is that he throws in the high 90's, and has a good slider. If the D-Backs are to do this deal, they have to do it in about 4 and a half hours from now.

I have also heard news that a deal may be in place for Danny Bautista to go to Philidelphia. Dont know the players yet but if this deal goes through, rest assured I will be on to tell all about it. Im out.

It's amazing me what the Dodgers are doing. They have given up a lot, and I mean a lot of players for bad pitching so far. IT will be sad to see Randy go, but change seems like it has to come. I'll be waiting fior the updates.
