At least he got a taste of the bad defense and no offense so when it happens again he won't be surprised
mets down 7-0 about to be 8 games out

Benson blew up like a guided missile heading to Iraq. I was running a 1.445 ERA all week and he just screwed me.......DROPPED!

I liked how Reyes and Matsui decided to play soccar. Reyes kicked the ball past Matsui for a goal. 1-0 Reyes!

in defense of Kris Benson, and I do not know how much this actually makes a difference, but in the past 10 days, this was his 3rd start against Atlanta. Chances are pretty good that by the 3rd start, the Braves may have figured him out. I would imagine it is tough to fool a team that many times in a row.

You have a point. I'm still going to rag on the Matsui and Reyes for thinking they were playing in one of those internationl World Cup matches.

You beat me to it. If you're a pitcher, facing a team 3 times in 11 days makes it very difficult to fool their batters yet again.

World Cup action in Atlanta is still under way. Reyes still with the lead 2-1.

I totally agree!!!
This was an incredibly stupid move by the Mets coaching staff....
Why not start Zambrano, who last pitched a day earlier than Benson, thus more rested plus having the benefit of the Braves never having faced him??
Plus Benson didnt exactly fool the Braves in his last start for the Pirates....
In all reality, it there is no need to knit pick Benson because it didnt matter if he gave up 7 runs or pitched great and only gave up 1 run as the Mets still couldnt hit Wright:hmm: Give me a break:Pissed:

Has anyone ever accused the mets of being smart at all ever in the past 3 years?

Trading Wiggy will certainly put off all accusations a further two months.
