He is only the 8th player in Sox history to hit a HR at his first at bat as a member of the team

No Timiln blew the game by not doing his job of getting anyone out!!! the only one who can actually come in and strike someone out is on the DL

Welcome Orlando Cabrera. Thank you for blowing the game last night.

cabrera didnt blow the game. he made an error, on a tough play, but kaplar should have thrown it to the cutoff man, bellhorn. also, he got one of only 2 hits that night, so...our offense blew the game...

its like remy said...i have never, ever seen that many chest high breaking balls seen taken for strikes. we didnt swing at anything. 12 freakin strikeouts. please.

Meh, we got Cabrera for his defense and he committed the key error.

Whatever. This whole team sucks. SUCKITY SUCK SUCK SUCK. 0-2 since the trade, but that's expected.

you think nomar would have helped us win any of these games? probably we'd be 0-3 by now, and don't ask me how! :D

by the way we went 14-12 in july, pretty mediocre huh?

Other than that error in his first game, Cabrera is looking REAL smooth in the field though. He's making plays Nomar would not have made.

nomar has already made plays that gonzalez wouldnt have made for us either.

That nice, Ray...but it is only a matter of time until Nomar loses you a few games because of his shoddy defense. :)

well, alex gonzalez cost us a chance to go to the world series last year, so unless nomar does that, its all good. :)

WURD.

If Nomar can stay healthy, his bat will make up for his D.

thing is, for the cubs, anything is an upgrade over alex gonzalez. hell, cabrera would have been better for you guys. so the cub fans will only be impressed by nomar until next year if he signs there, and starts making dumbass errors and popping up every other at bat. only a matter of time.

naw, he wouldnt distress us overly much. remember, we have sammy and aramis and todd walker and moises alou as fielders and grudzy aint all that good (not much range and a bit scatterarmed at times).

and popups arent any worse than all the strikeouts. plus, we already have a buncha people who pop up the ball on the first pitch (read: mo alou, patterson, grudzy, sammy)

so he would fit right in. :D lol

Wake has been amazed. Watching him and Pokey earlier makes me realize just how much Nomar's defensive skills had declined.
