View Full Version : My final revised thoughts on Nomah leaving

Yes, Nomah had to go. Yes, he pretty much admitted dogging it to get out of here. Yes, I have anger towards him, and yes, his ass will be watching in October like we will.

However, he shoulda been gone in the off-season. We could have gotten more for him then.

Now, after reviewing it, Clement wasn't what we needed. We did, however, need pen help. I still think we could have gotten some elsewhere.

Theo and the Trio had a BRUTAL off-season, which led to this.

I have ZERO confidence in them going forward.

And did I mention I hope Nomah and his dyke wife rot in hell? What Nomah did is unforgivable. And Management not dealing with this issue in the off-season is unforgivable.

I think this whole thing SUCKS. We traded one of the best players in Sox history for DEFENSIVE HELP. Give me a goddamn break. We could have done so much better than what is basically a hockey puck and a sack or marbles in Cabrera and Mientivich (or however the christ you spell his name, not that I give a rat's ass). Sure, we probably could not have gotten much more than this at this deadline, but Asshole Theo and his butt rumping cohorts dragged their feet so damn long on a pulling a deal, this was the best they could do at this point. If they had done something early in the season, we could have gotten someone like Magglio Ordonez.

The Red Sox are a weaker team now. If you can't see that, you have your head in the sand.

We, as Sox fans, just got rammed up the tailpipe.

And why the hell was this site down all frikkin morning? :Puter:

not to sound like a douche or anything, but how could we have gotten more for him during the offseason? he becomes a free agent...and if ur talking about draft picks...if cabrera walks after this season we get the same picks...

and that last part...hehehehehehe

Last off-season, not the upcoming one.

oh, ok. gotcha. so what do you think...we shoulda kept nomar? i honestly believe this was the ebst we could get...its not enough, no, but the best. and had we kept nomar im pretty sure he would have been on the dl half the time.

i blame nomar for this. only nomar

The blame is equal Datch. No, I didn't want Nomah to stay. Neither did management, for well over a year. They knew he wasn't staying, so they shoulda dealt him THIS PAST OFF-SEASON. Instead, they waited till our season was over, and all they could get was trash.

Datch, I agree that this was the best we were going to get at this point in time, but Asshole Theo waited too long to make a deal. We could have gotten a lot more even just a month ago.

I agree that Cabrera and Mitnztzek are good defensive players, but don't complain to us when they are striking out or hitting into double plays every time a runner is on base.

yep, you're right. although they tried to dump him this off season, but i doubt you forgot that...:D we just didnt want to spend the money. why? i dunno. maybe they didnt want to become the second george. who knows. but ya cant blame theo for that...thats the owners. i honestly think theo has done a remarkable job. nothing superspecial, but pretty good.

In all honesty, I don't think Theo does shit. I think Lucchino tells him what to do. And I think they have failed badly this year.

Want proof? A 125 mill dollar payroll that is 2 games under .500 for 4 months.

you most likely would not have gotten the same draft pick for Nomar as you could for Cabrera. Most likely not even close.

Agreed and agreed. I say, since the effing deal for F-Rod didnt go through, they should have, at that point, try to make a deal for someone else. Someone better. How about maybe getting rid of his ass, even for prospects and having enough money to sign Tejada for only $12 mill? Theo and Co. really eff-ed up Boston for the next few years. Watch Nomah sign with the Skanks next year to play 2nd.

you know what, that would be hilarious. and impossible. nomar has too large of an ego to go play second base. he still thinks hes the best player in the league. he might just to spite the sox, but...

but i hadnt even thought of tejade...after the a-rod deal fell through, was tejada still a FA? if so, you're right bob

the draft pick compensation for free agents goes like this: Prior to free agency, each player is given a classification. Class A, B, C, etc... the classification of the draft pick that you lose determines where your compensatory pick is.

I don't know this for sure, but my guess would be that Nomar would have been a Class A, and Cabrera probably a class B.

well...cabrera did hit .300 with 17 homers and 80 rbi last year, and has won a gold glove...eh, who knows. is there any way to find out?

imgreat95

th eonly way i know to find out is to wait til the offseason.

17 HR/80RBI in one season would not warrant a Class A, if you would ask me.

true true. i was just commenting that that was as good a season as nomar had...he also hit .300 last year. well, we will wait and see then
