I mean let's face it. This season has been a HUGE disappointment. Reminds me a lot of 01. Huge expectations. Horrible production.

Why?

My thoughts.

1: Piss poor managing and coaching. The lack of urgency this team plays with is frightening. We only get up for Yank games. We sleepwalk thru all others. That is management's fault.

2: Horrific amount of errors. See 1:.

3: Too many guys worrying about their contracts instead of winning games.

4: Too many injuries.

5: No leadership.

6: Horrifically bad use of pitching staff. See 1:.

:sigh:

Guys, I'm really upset. I really thought this team would be better. :(

This team makes me sick. The managers are incompetent, the players have no heart, and our GM is too proud to take any blame for his horrific mistakes. And Im sorry, but Im totally not incourage to spend about $150+ to watch a team, that has the highest ticket prices in MLB, lose. As much as it saddens me, I call this the season, and Il say what we always say, "Theres always next year."

However, as a Red Sox fan, I can take these words back if we go to the playoffs...other than that, I stand by my words. :D

name one horrific mistake made by the GM this season

1. Resigning Kim to a 2 year contract.

2. Effing up the whole ARod trade. Therefore, basically, coming to the conclusion of Nomar being traded.

Theres 2, and I can list alot more from last year if you really want me to.

3: Hiring Francona

4: Giving Nixon a long contract even though he had a history of injuries.

5: Failing to upgrade this bullpen at the deadline.

Want more?

The A rod fall apart WAS NOT Theo's fault. And the Kim thing can not beconsidered a horrific move just yet as he has not played and we don't know what the story is so until we do it remains a question.

PissedPrincess

6: Overpaying for Foulke.

7: Not building any kind of a bench.

PissedPrincess
08-06-2004, 02:18 PM
8: Mendoza.

Rowdy, hello? Kim has NOT contributed in a year! That's a WASTE of $5 mill that could have been used far better.

rowdyBostonfan
08-06-2004, 02:21 PM
How would he of upgraded the bullpen? There wasn't much out there and we probably would of given up too much. The bullpen is suffering from injuries and over use.

Hiring Francona wasn't a bad move. Francona's managing is horrific is not the actual hiring.

Resigning Nixon was horrific either.

some of the points maybe bad or questionable moves but nothing horrific

PissedPrincess
08-06-2004, 02:24 PM
How could he have upgraded the pen? Are you serious? Let's see, Umm Myers from Seattle, hell there were a number of guys he coulda got. BUT, having to move Nomah screwed all that up.

Nomah shoulda been moved in the off-season. Theo knew damn well after the AROD fiasco that Nomah was miserable. Yet, he did NOTHING.

his arm issues and where is Kim anyway still in Korea?

PissedPrincess
08-06-2004, 02:29 PM
Dude, Kim has had arm issues for a year. He sat out the playoffs with a shoulder problem. He is currently in Pawtucket getting killed every time out. He won't be called up again. Theo has tried desperately to trade him.

Love ya, but Theo has made some real bad decisions of late.

Who would Theo been able to trade for Myers?

You don't trade a player just because he is misearble. They attmepted to mend things but they just worsened and the injury made things worse.

Theo is a good GM. He is a fan but doesn't do his job with that in mind. He wouldn't survive if he did.

PissedPrincess
08-06-2004, 02:32 PM
Yeah, you do. They knew Nomah was hurt before ST even started. They prolly didn't know how bad, but with all the stories now, Nomah made it very clear he wanted out of here, and would sulk all year.

We coulda got good value for him in Feb.

Where would we be if we didn't have Schilling?

He was a good signing. Bellhorn was good signing as he is one who is over performing then expected.
Pokey was a good signing as well.

Pokey has been hurt so goddamn much, I call that a wash. Agree on Bellhorn. Love him. Again, guy is gonna miss at least another month.

That the players need to execute. Theo has done what he can and in the end t what counts is: Execution.

we will though, thats the annoying part. this team deserves to be about 20 games out of the wild card, but there is no competition for it. the sox will scrape by into the playoffs, and play oakland again

I dont think really nothing and that was why I am so ticked about the trade.

That makes two 2nd basemen that O'Drool gave up for nothing and both went on to the Red Sox and had some good season. Todd Walker being the other one. But let me look and I will find out what they gave up.

It is a rookie most of the time that cant be traded. I think when you draft a kid he cant be traded for a year or something like that so they agree on the player that will be traded for him and just say that he will be named latter. So the Rox are still waiting on him more than likly.
