After a 4 game series against Cleveland which I missed and I apologize for that (damn computer) But I was following and I know that we took a split and it was sort of a disapointing end to the series. Towers got rocked the first game we lost against them and then Bush had a good game but then we lost it in extras. But anyways now its time for a first versus worst in the AL East.

Pitching matchups:
Sean Douglass (0-1, 4.91) vs. Javier Vazquez (12-6, 4.16) Vazquez is having a solid campaign and is a much better pitcher then Douglass is, so I would take the Yankees in this one for sure.

Ted Lilly (8-7, 3.78) vs. El Duque (3-0, 3.00) So far Orlando looks pretty good in his return to NY. He faces a familiar face in Ted Lilly who has pitched extremely well lately. Tough call, but I will take the all-star

Miguel Batista (9-6, 4.08) vs. Jon Lieber (7-7, 5.06) It looks like there is a pitching matchup that favours the Jays here, although Lieber looked good in his last outing against Toronto. Even though Batista is coming off his worst start in a few months, I would still take him over Lieber.

OK why dont we just forget this whole series? It's just been crap the whole time. I think this is a 4 gamer though, so hopefully we can avoid a sweep tomorrow.

Well the Jays finally took a game in this series 5-4 in the first game under John Gibbons. We were able to get to the former Jay Esteban Loaiza in the second and we didnt look back. Gabe Gross hit his first career homerun. Josh Towers got back on track by pitching 7 effective innings. Jason Frasor picked up his 15th save of the season despite giving up a 2 run homerun to Hideki Matsui.
