I took a bus trip to Lakewood New Jersey yesterday afternoon to catch a minor league ball game in which a Mets farm team was playing. I had very good seats for the game, section 111, row 11, seat 13
Some of the players who I had see play for the Brooklyn Cyclones, are now with the Capital City Bombers. It's great to see some of these players elsewhere other than in Brooklyn.

BlueClaws hold on for win
Bramasco collects three hits in game
August 06, 2004
Nate Cabrera worked seven strong innings and Omar Bramasco collected three hits in Lakewood’s 3-1 win over Capital City Friday night in front of a crowd of 8,099 at FirstEnergy Park. The BlueClaws improved to 22-19 in the second half and 53-55 overall, while the Southern Division leaders dropped to 24-15 in the second half and 68-41 overall.
Dan Hodges opened the ninth inning on the mound for Lakewood with a 3-1 lead in a save situation and walked Shawn Bowman, Yunir Garcia and Caleb Stewart to load the bases with nobody out. David Reaver flied out to shallow right field for the first out with the runners holding before Rashad Parker popped up to second baseman Tim Moss in shallow centerfield for the second out. Jamar Hill, ninth in the league with 19 home runs, grounded into a force out at second for the final out of the game. Hodges earned his sixth save of the season and first since May 13 in his third outing since being activated from the disabled list on Monday.
Javon Moran reached on a fielding error by Reaver at shortstop with one out in the third and moved to third base on a base hit by Jake Blalock, who pushed his hitting streak to seven games. Moran then scored on a sacrifice fly by Randy Ruiz, who has knocked in a run in 15 of the last 19 games he has played. The BlueClaws extended their lead to 2-0 in the fourth when Jose Cortez reached second base on a throwing error by second baseman Blake Whealy, advanced to third on a base hit by Josh Mader and scored on a fielder’s choice grounder off the bat of Tim Moss.
Nate Cabrera blanked the visitors through the first four innings and yielded his only run in the fifth when Bowman led off with a triple and scored one out later on a base hit by Stewart. The Lakewood right-hander fanned four and walked only one to pick up his first victory since July 10 at Lexington. Jacob Barrack allowed a base hit and issued two walks to load the bases with two outs in the eighth but worked out of trouble by striking out Andy Wilson.
The BlueClaws tacked on an insurance run in the eighth when Zach Norman singled, stole second and advanced to third on a throwing error by the catcher Garcia and scored on a two-out single by Bramasco, who totaled three hits in a game for the first time since May 22 at Hagerstown.
The BlueClaws continue their four-game series with New York Mets South Atlantic League affiliate Saturday night at 7:05 p.m. Joe Wilson gets the starting assignment for Lakewood against Bombers right-hander Tim Worthington. Toyota World of Lakewood/Scion World of Lakewood presents a post-game fireworks show, the 10th of 12 scheduled for the 2004 season. All BlueClaws games, home and away, can be heard on 1160 WOBM AM and www.sportsjuice.com. Coverage of Saturday’s game will begin at 6:50 p.m.
