I need some help with a 16 team td only league. (no points for yardage) Everyone knows the big dogs, has the same cheat sheets, and the first two rounds can nearly play out themselves.

What I want to know is who is everyons sleepers, big late picks, and rookies that are going to explode. You know everyone flying under the radar. Ive been in this league for 2 years now, and this is what seems to seperate 1st thru 3rd from 4th thru 8th.

Hook me up with the sleepers!!!

First of all, Welcome!

Second - I usually figure if half my darkhorses come through I'm doing pretty good. Some are sleepers, some are under the radar guys, some are in a good situation with opportunity.

For a basic scoring system:
RBs - Ron Dayne, Moe Williams, TJ Duckett, Chris Brown, Thomas Tapeh, Greg Jones
WR - Justin McCareins, Marcus Robinson, Larry Fitzgerald, Charley Rogers

I'm sure other people will have some ideas, too.

this is only my opinion, but if david givens is health this year, he could score some tds. he scored a lot of them last year in limited action, and he's only gonna get better.

that having been said, brady likes to spread around alot, which might diminish the amount of touchdowns any single person on the pats will score.

Well the obvious choices are Holmes for TD's, but here are my picks for ya...

RB: DeShaun Foster, Panthers
Stephen Davis has started less than 15 games in 4 of the last 6 years and is creeping up there in years. Foster is explosive and a very nice double threat back. Behind that Carolina line, if he gets his chance with a Davis injury, he could become a #2 fantasy back for a team this year. Also, even though this might belong in the "undervalued" category, don't forget about the Vikings' Michael Bennett. Missed half of last season to a foot injury, didn't do very well rushing the ball when he came back and only scored once in 8 games. But, he still has sprinter speed and he is an awesome pick when you can get him in the second half of many drafts.

WR: Tyrone Calico, Titans
I am suprised I haven't heard this guys name being mentioned on our sleeper lists so far. With the departure of Justin McCareins in New York, Calico will compete to be the Titans #2 WR this year, with Drew Bennett. Many think Bennett will get the the nod at the second spot, but Calico will probably take over for him at some time in the year. He had 4 TDs in limited action last year and has great size for a prototypical good WR, (6'4", 225). Words is that he is having a solid mini-camp. If he can improve his concentration on the game, he'll be a very solid WR option. And just think what he could do next year when he heads into his all-important 3rd year as a wide reciever?

Keep them coming.

DeShaun Foster would be a good second half pick. I picked up Calico last year in our supplemental draft as I had McNair and was trying to win weekly payouts by those two hooking up.

TC - Moe Williams and Duckett seem to be good, and my stock in greg jones is going up the more reading I do. Chris Brown also could explode with the absence of eddie george. Im not really feeling the great dane and I think fitzgeralds hype will force some idiot to pick him early. All your other receivers are moving up on my cheat sheets.

Anyone else.

WR: Tyrone Calico, Titans
I am suprised I haven't heard this guys name being mentioned on our sleeper lists so far.

I mentioned him in "Steal a 1st round WR" He is one of the best redzone targets in the league even being number 4 on the depth chart. This year he is competing for the #2 WR position and already caught 4 deep TDs in a scrimage with Atlanta. Move him up on your cheatsheets.

forget what I said about the great dane! he was impressive tonight. i didn't know he cut almost 40 pounds this season. he had some speed, where did that come from.

Don't read too much into Daynes performance against KC's 3rd string D.
Dayne should see an increased workload this year and get the goal line love but in order to draft him you would need to draft him too early because his bandwagon is getting bigger. The knock on him is he has always been "slow to the hole", and playing against 3rd stringers he can get away with it.
That being said, I still want Ron dayne on my team but I want to get him later on in the draft and that wont happen.

Yours is a TD only league so you can move him up on your cheatsheets.

Charles Rogers WR Det was injured most of last year and wont show up on most peoples radar. The Lions have improved and will be a contender this year IMHO.

Good call Koz. I love Calico. He has a freakish Terrell Owens type of body. He just needs to cut down on the drops, and learn the game better. Year 2 could be a real coming of age for him.

I also love Antonio Gates at tight end. He only had one year of college ball (as he focused on basketball instead). He is incredibly gifted, and learning the game better all the time. If you look at the past 5 weeks of the season, you will see that he outscored Todd Heap during that time. Besides, who else is going to catch passes in San Diego besides Tomlinson.

If you are looking for a deep running back sleeper, you might look to Tony Hollings in Houston. Supposedly he was still tenative last year, which alowed Davis to establish himself as the starter. Now it looks like Hollings is back to full form, and looking very good. So far the plan is to give him the ball around 10 carries a game. Davis has a history of injury, so Hollings could be a great value pick, espescially if Davis loses time to an injury.
