I was at last night's Cyclones game, a loss to the Staten Island Yankees  but at least my record at Cyclones games is still good at 10 wins and 5 losses. I still have 3 more Cyclones games that I will be going to this season, Next Monday 8/16, Thursday 8/19, and Sunday 8/22. After those games, I hope to attend a few of the playoff games that the Cyclones will play at Keyspan Park.

Cyclones Fall To Baby Bombers
8/12/04
The Cyclones lost their second game in a row to the Staten Island Yankees, and sixth in their last seven games, by a score of 6-1 on Thursday evening. The Cyclones out-hit the Yankees eight to five, but Brooklyn left seven men on base and committed two errors leading to three unearned runs for Staten Island. Despite pitching well, Brooklyn starter Joe Williams (4-3) suffered the loss, allowing two runs on three hits over 5.2 innings. With the defeat, the Cyclones’ record falls to 29-22 but they remain a game ahead of the Hudson Valley Renegades, and two games in front of the New Jersey Cardinals for the McNamara Division lead.
The Yankees broke the scoreless tie with a single run in the top of the fourth. But Brooklyn answered right away thanks to a solo blast from Grant Psomas which knotted the game at 1-1. However, Staten Island scored once in the sixth, three times in the seventh and once more in the eighth to take a commanding 6-1 lead. With solid relief from the Yankees bullpen, which included an appearance from major leaguer Steve Karsay, the game would end with that same 6-1 score.
Brooklyn will take on the New Jersey Cardinals tomorrow in the first game of a critical two-game series. Great seats are still available for the 7:00 p.m. game and can be purchased over the phone by calling (718) 507-TIXX or in person at the KeySpan Park box office. Lefty Evan MacLane (3-3) will take the mound for the Cyclones in hopes of getting the team back on the right track.
