Stupid Cox. We just moved a week ago and we couldnt get internet until today, so im back on. I am mainly pissed off at the investors knocking Jerry Colangelo off his throne as CEO of the Diamondbacks, but I am even more pissed off that they put in his place Jeff Moorad, a former sports agent. What, was Bill Bidwill unavailable? As a Phoenician myself, I am appalled that they would knock off such a good man like Colangelo. Look, I understand that he drew the ire of other owners because of his willing to give free agents more than they deserve, but all the guy wanted was to win, and he did win. He carved the best moment of my life when he put together a winning team in 2001 that finally netted Phoenix that ever so elusive major sports championship. Not only that, he beat The Boss and the dreaded Yankees. Double props to him for that. I am a D-Backs fan for life, but I see this organization going nowhere but down with Jeff Moron in charge. If Moorad wants to change this organization for the better, he should fire Joe Jr, Pedrique, everyone in management. Then give Randy what he wanted before and trade him to a winning team. Dont hire Mark Grace as skipper. Hire a proven manager who can teach these youngins how its done. Give the team a major roster overhaul and cut payroll in half. Young players will develop over time and just like the Indians this year, will eventually blossom into stars. Unfortunately, I dont see this happening. We are probably going to go big in the offseason and try to win again next year, but I dont see us contending for a long time.

Why would you want to get rid of Johnson? He's the only pitcher on our team, and at times the one player in general that has been holding his own. I don't understand how some people were so gungho to trade him. If you have a nice car that runs great with no problems, you don't trade it in for another one that may be newer but may take a few years to run as good, if it ever does.

Kevin has a point. Johnson, as shown in yesterdays game against the Mets is the only player who seems to be able to get this team over any hump. He shut out the Mets for 8 2/3 innings and thank god he has because he only had 2 runs to work with. As long as we can keep The Unit then I say we keep him. He isn't going down hill any time soon and hasent yet. He could probably be the Cy Young winner this year if not for Shmidt.

Sure hes the Randy of old, but he is going to lose 10-13 games this year and win only 15 or 16 when he could be on a winning team and win 17-20 games. We could keep him, but I wouldnt recommend it.

He's gonna lose 10-13 games this year mostly because of subpar fielding and mistakes that have been comitted behind him. If not for those mistakes I would say another 16+ wins for Randy with about 8 loses.

I agree with Liter...very few of Randy's losses and no decisions were his fault, but instead could be blamed on errors in the field and/or a complete lack of run support. And while it is likely that Randy wanted a trade, I don't think that requires the Diamondbacks to blow him out of there without getting something good in return, which the Yankees apparently weren't offering. Johnson signed a contract, and both sides must be willing to terminate that contract for it to be broken. Just like if the management DID want to trade him but he wanted to stay put.

Right about that. They shouldnt trade Randy, or any other good player without getting something good in return, and that apparently wasnt what the skanks were offering. Its like that Schilling trade, they get nobody good in return for a pitcher who had won 53 games in the past three years. That trade made no sense for me.

Putting it frankly the Schilling deal we got raped in. If we trade Randy I want a GOOD young pitcher who can be used now, a top minor league pitching prospect maybe even some good out field prospects.

I don't want prospects....I want people we KNOW who are good players. I wouldn't trade any veteran for someone who has shown promise in the minors, only to struggle when actually making it up like they almost always do. I only want another proven player, that way, barring injury or sudden mysterious slump, you KNOW you are getting a good player for your trade. That's why I don't get this business of getting all of these prospects. Honestly, have ANY of them paid off?
