Yankees signed outfielder Shane Spencer to a minor league contract and assigned him to Triple-A Columbus on Monday.

I know this is really Y***** news, but I thought I would post it here anyway since he was a Met this season.

I'm thinking he never really left the Dark Side.

He played hard here, he was professional, I liked him until the DUI, but I'm with Julie I think he bled pinstripes....

Spencer went to the Yankees because he knows that they can keep their players' indiscretions out of the press. Of course, once the Yankees have no need for Spence, they won't hesitate to drop a dime on him to the Tampa (or wherever Spencer is living) PD, like when they needed to get Darryl off the 40-man roster.

Really?

The way they kept Strawberry, Gooden, Luis Polonia, David Wells, Steve Howe, Karim Garcia and Jeff Nelson out of the press?

As long as your playing in NY, if you screw up, your face will be in the paper.
