Bobby Higginson was reduced to pinch-running duties during the weekend series against Anaheim, and he may have lost whatever regular playing time he was getting to Craig Monroe. "I'm just going to leave it open," Tigers' skipper Alan Trammell said of the starting right-field job. "Monroe's swinging the bat. I'm just playing the hot hand."

I'm not surprised. Higgy really does look worn down. All the years of losing, his age and injuries sure look like they have taken their toll. At this point, I think the Tigs are best served to let Monroe play out the string and see if he's really a big leaguer or not.

Jen, I suspect Higgy will return in '05, but will be a bench player.

He used Pudge's bat. Maybe he should have used it all year. Sorry, Jen, he still looks like a platoon player in '05 to me. I know how you feel, though. It's hard to see your favorites lose their skills.

It freaken sucks. Do you know what it feels like to have everyone in the entire freaken world always bashing your favourite playing and defending him time and time and time again.... only to have him finally benched after loving him for 9 years. Couldn't even just let him retire in style. :( Just kicked him on down the line like a piece of crap.
